Spot repair or sewer replacement?

How many times per year does your sewer get clogged, causing a major inconvenience because you cannot use any of your plumbing? Once, twice three times per year? Maybe it's time to end the stress by having Captain Rooter and Plumbing perform a video inspection of your sewer line and offer a more permanent solution. With video and line locator technology, we can pinpoint where the problem(s) is with your sewer. At that point we will either recommend repairing a single section of your sewer pipe or, if there are multiple problems, recommend replacing the sewer line with trenchless technology.

Trenchless Sewer Replacement
Trenchless sewer replacement requires far less digging than open-trenching the entire sewer pipe. Therefore it minimizes the excavation of your garden, landscaping, driveway and walkway. The first step is to dig the sewer pipe up where it exits the house. The second step is to dig a hole on the opposite end of the length of pipe that needs to be replaced. Both holes are usually no more than two feet square, giving the plumber enough space to work.

Pipe Replacement
To replace the pipe line, a bursting cone is attached to the head of the new length of polyethylene pipe, which is fused together by heat into one solid piece of pipe and attached to a winch by a line of cable run through the middle of the existing pipe. The winch assembly then pulls the new line of pipe with its bursting cone through the old length of pipe. The bursting cone makes space for the new pipe by destroying the old one.

Once the new pipe is completely installed, it is simply connected to the existing system. This code-approved pipe is a completely root-proof, leak-proof, chemical and acid resistant pipe, with a 100 year design life.In most cases, the process takes less than a day. Even better, you will be without plumbing service for only 2-4 hours.

The process is extremely efficient and allows your plumber to replace the pipe without actually digging up your yard and without replacing more pipe than is strictly necessary. You save money and the process is done just as quickly.
